I graduated from the University of Georgia in 1972 with a major in Journalism (Public Relations) and a minor in Business (Marketing). My experience in the profession for the last 40 years has included bank management training, advertising design and sales, owning and selling a restaurant, restoring and utilizing several old buildings on the property, teaching private dance and drama lessons for 20 years, free-lance writing for a national textile firm, publishing two children’s books, ghost writing a book, and working for the last seven years as a reporter, photographer, and columnist for five weekly community newspapers. I also added advertising sales and design to the mix the last year I worked for the group.
I believe the written word is one of the most powerful tools known to humankind; and now we have the ability to reach millions with a simple click of the mouse.
Let the games begin.
So glad to be here. I have missed your wit and insights!
Thank you so much…miss yours, too…
Quite a wide range of things you have done/are doing. I am greatly enjoying your writings.
Why thank you Jack. I’ll be checking yours out soon.
Found you! HJC of July 23,2009 turned up just now where I reread your Linking Rattlesnakes and Politicians piece. Then read He Was A Man of Great Patience – He Raised Eight Daughters of January 10, 2013.
I remember your mentioning William Spence, a Harris County sheriff, in a couple of columns with info told to you by your father or grandfather. I toted around a picture postcard of him (Spence) for a long time in case I might run into you when I visited Harris County. He had sent it, when a teen-ager, to my mother, his cousin, when on a trip to Tybee.
I have missed you. And Jeanne Koone – Jeanne in the ultimate sense, as well. Still subscribe to HJC, though, anymore, the only ‘personal’ news is by obituary.
Afterthought: I can name only 7 daughters of T. Rob’s?…
Please give me your Got it to this. Thanks!
Wow…How I would love to see that postcard. Send me your email so we can stay in touch.
