Common sense has prevailed thus far and the sky has not fallen…yet.
After several meetings with Georgia Department of Transportation officials, the last of which occurred yesterday at quittin’ time, the landscape here at Jones Crossroads remains the same.
The recommendation to change the engineering plans and forego putting a stop sign in front of the historic facade has received approval from local and district officials. It has been forwarded to Atlanta and awaits the blessing of the Wizard of Roads.
Fortunately, as we convened at the store yesterday, watching an endless stream of commuters go by, another overloaded log truck attempted the make the turn and rolled right over the proposed stop sign site.
Thank you sweet angels who watch over all efforts to thwart stupidity.
Now you can fly up to Washington and clean house.
